[Closed] Having trouble removing my xtr m970 cranks......help!

Never removed these before and i'm really making a meal of it.....

I have the removal tool but cant work it out, can anyone give me step by step idiots instructions or post a link please?

1. Screw in the removal tool (reverse thread IIRC)

2. undo the crank bolt and the removal tool plus the bolt will act as a self extractor.

Oh, you need to remove the plastic thread protector with teh removal tool before screwing the removal tool in!

foxyrider - you don't put the plastic ring back in the crank arm in your 'how to'?

Thanks guys, worked it out!

Problem was apart from me being a moron was i removed the bolt.....doh!

WW - I did:

Use the reverse side of the Mounting Tool to re-install the crank arm cap – this should hand tight only.

But I have just put an image in to make the point?
