Thought I'd give the xc a go after riding mainly dh and a bit of road so bought a Pace 303 frame but having just ridden at c-y-b I think I've either got the wrong frame or wrong set up. The feeling of nearly being pitched over the bars was disconcerting and meant I couldn't do the descents justice- is this just because its an xc geo frame or do I need to change the set up. Currently running pikes and a 50mm shorty stem btw.

It's not an XC frame. It is a long travel hardtail, borne out by the fact that you have Pikes and a 50mm stem on it.

Size of frame and your height are very relevant. Also set up of the forks, saddle height/position, stem height, more info we need

I vaguely remember the reviews saying it was like riding right over the front wheel but that was what they liked?
