Ordered a Super Star angle headset.
The top race they have sent has a 10mm collar whereas my one is 1mm. Is that correct?
If Im understanding the pic right, as long as the diameter of the cup is correct for the frame then I cant see a problem. Your old headset is internal by design to keep the front low whereas the angleset looks to be more external so if you dont mind having the extra stack and your steerer length is long enough to account for the extra height, it should do the job
Providing you bought the EC44 version you have been sent the correct thing. External cup for 44mm headtube.
There’s no space in a 44mm headtube with the bearing inside to allow angle adjustment so the bearing has to go in an external cup to allow the movement.
You need to knock out the old cup and press in the new one but you’ll also need to make sure your steerer is long enough to accommodate the extra stack height.
That’s sounding ok. Got 20 mm of spacers under the stem plus the height of the old headset.
