I have been riding pretty short reach 26" bikes with more oldschool hooligan geo. Now I've have had enough. First I planned to get modern full susser. But after long, still greatly improving hardtail career, I decided to stay on simple side of riding. I have always been bmx rider, but never been that great. Riding bigger bikes have been so much easier for me. I can get fast and loose on mtb, but on bmx i feel myself really clumsy. Now Im kind of getting that same cramped feeling on my 26" "enduro" hardtail.
Now im gettin Btr Ranger. I think it is the most i can get from riding hardtail. Im pretty aggressive rider. Mostly downhill, bike parks. General trail riding included. Trying to go fast smooth big and loose. Also planning to race some enduro in future.
Im 6" tall. Long legs and normal lenght arms. Im struggling to choose between size large with 460mm or xlarge 480mm reach. X large also has 10mm more stack and 15mm taller seat tube.
Tom from btr have been really helpfull for me, but I just want to hear some other riders too. How tall are you? What size are you riding? Would you choose same size again?
thanks
Ive just *replaced* my medium Solaris with a large SolarisMAX which has a TT of 460.
Running a 60mm stem I'm happier with the longer (than the medium) TT.
Only done a 100 mile bikepacking trip on it so far though.
Oh, I'm pretty much near as damn it 6' and 33"-33.5-ish inside leg.
haha. 6'. Its hard to come from metric system..
