Hello hello, wanted to continue the shed discussions and I have the opportunity to help spec out a bike shed for a new house.
What options do I have for bike storage in an outdoor shed? I'm looking at a steel post or something reasonable substantial set in concrete.
My collection of substantial, Gold rated D-locks and chains will be enhanced for this project, of course.
Something like

seem to be what's available.
I'm more looking at some Sheffield hoops [s]but they're £130+[/s]. They can be had for about £50 each 😀

Aiming to get 6 bikes in a 10" x 12" or similarly sized shed, what are my pitfalls? Hod do you make use of the space and/or modify a standard garden shed for bikes and secure storage?
Budget is an issue, we'll not be putting in outdoor lighting but some shelving and hooks will be going in...
*BUMP* for the friday afternoon workshy crowd
sheffield stands are probably more easily cut than a ground anchor and bugger up access to the shed.
Personally I'd go for the ground anchor in a big lump of concrete and make sure it's difficult to access due to lot's of bikes around it.
Best bet is to make the shed as inaccesable as possible though - no windows/chicken wire linings/extra 8mm ply lining/internal hinges/proper locks.
I've got a loop of T20 reinforcing bar which, I had bent on site, going through the shed floor and cast into quite a large lump of concrete underneath it. Might be cheaper than buying something if you know somebody in the contruction game.
I've mashed up the screw heads on the shed hinges, reinforced the frame with more timber and put a proper mortice lock into it, also built the shed with the windows against the fence.
simple but great tip.I've mashed up the screw heads on the shed hinges

I'm not sure what the dimensions of the tubing are, but anything is cut-able with enough patience. The diameter of the tubing would be helpful I thought. However you can lock.. what, one lock to a ground anchor? 6 bikes = 6 anchors @ £50 each!!!
A sheffield hoop would be the bike stand, and I reckon we'd get 6 bikes connected to 2 hoops at the far end of the shed. Sure they'd take over a good half of the shed space, but that's what it's for.
It's not a particularly high crime area either, I'm just wary that bikes in a shed is no security.
Thanks for all the other tips, I'll take them on board. Not sure a proper mortice lock will be do-able, but I'll look in to it.
I have an £4.5k ground anchor 🙂
8 hrs in a vac furnace @ £500 / hr. Thankfully work picked up the bill 🙂
