Hey Chaps,

My Hope BB was a bit tight coming out of a BB shell, and screwing it back into another frame it feels very grindy. Is there a way to recut the thread on the BB itself? I'm not meaning the BB shell in the frame, the threads attached to the Hope BB.

Cheers!

Ricks

It's amazing how even a small amount of grit in the threads can cause what you mention. Are you sure it's not that?

I've taken my time before, running a knife along the thread wrapped in WD40'ed tissue paper to gently clean the threads out..probably faster ways out there though!

Steel frame? Just give it a half turn in, quarter out and repeat.

It's not any grit unfortunately, gave it a good clean with IPA and a rag.

I've got a steel frame to do that on! It'll be a carbon frame with bonded BB shell its going in to though.

I can give the Stanley knife chasing a go.
