hi just wondering is anyone has the basic gore element active shell (AS) Jacket and also the goretex variant.

how breathable is the goretex version compared to the regular windproof one.

i like my windproof one and it has some water resistance but it can get hot, is the goretex one far more breathable, or just better for rain

thanks in advance

GoreTex is generally less breathable and more waterproof than AS. AFAIK, AS jackets aren't taped at the seams either.

The AS version will be less breathable and more waterproof than the Windstopper version

thanks scotroutes , andy
makes sense, think i'll stick to my windstopper and an apple sized waterproof in my pack if it doesnt look like it'll rain,
otherwise a more substancial jacket to start a ride
