So I have the new gopro... are the sticky pad mounts strong enough for it to stay on top off my 661 comp full face and giro feature?

Is the strap helmet mount any good?

The sticky pads are strong enough. You could be looking like a telletubby in no time!

I've not tried a strap mount for a lid. The cheast mounts work well. I also got a cheap bar mount off ebay which I use to attach to the seat post. Facing forward from the seat post gives some good fork action shots.

I would rather wear no crash helmet than have a large lump of tough plastic glued to my crash helmet, a bullet cam yes but a go pro looks like it would smash through the lid nicely in a heavy impact. In fact wasn't it how scumacher was injured?

Not sure about that, I'd be more worried about losing it while passing under low branches.

I bet if you put a weight in the helmet and drop it straight down onto the go pro it will put a nice hole in the shell, as would a bullet cam but to a lesser degree.

I'm sure if you fall off whilst sandwiching the gopro between you and and the ground, rocks, trees or anything else, it's gonna leave a nice dent.

Go pro claims that it will come off your helmet on impact. But there's too many ways you could hit it too make that conclusion.

Either way, I'm sticking it to my helmet tonight and having a play tomorrow

I run mine from the side of my FF helmet,I like that angle better than from the top

Cyclist a few weeks ago on the merseyrail train, gets onto train roof of carrige door scalps his go pro off accross platform, he was not happy broke in bits, side fitting is better.

Side facing is fine on a full face but makes an xc lid keel over due to extra weight...
