Looking at picking up a good value and functional fullface helmet. Not too fussed about name/image. It'll purely be used for uplift days so won't see too much use. I won't need to peddle uphill. I've got a couple really nice openface lids, so don't need the like ofBell Super 2R. Just needs to be safe.

What's out there?
Not really sure where to start.

I bought the same 661 Comp as dogthompson mentioned above from CRC last week for £42 (sports pursuit only have XL size) and I think it's an nice helmet for the money.

CRC also have some good deals on last year models Troy Lee D2 and D3 which are hard to beat IMO for fit, aesthetics and protection. Get this one for £85 with extra £10 off clearance items over £75.

I got this one for an Alps trip last year - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/7-idp-m1-helmet/rp-prod128139

Really impressed with it, comfortable and not too warm. I got it in white but there are a few lurid colour options 🙂

Will be getting one of their M2's when my Flux is done with

please buy one that fits and not one that looks nice or is cheap for teh sake of it.

i wanted a bell super 2r but they dont fit me. I didnt fit the d2 either. i do fit fox. but i also fit 661 so i bought that as i dont use a FF very often.

the 7dip above is the same helmet as teh 661 comp.

+1 for the 661 comp - CRC had them under 40 Euro at xmas, got a small for my 7-year old, was really pleasantly surprised with the weight, fit and finish.

Thanks all! Will order a few from above and try them on, then return the ones that don't fit.

I got the 7dip from CRC pretty cheap, ordered both L and XL to try on and went with the XL, has served me well and isn't some shocking colour-way.

I have a 661 Comp for a couuple of BPW days a year.

Get some cheap goggles too, most sunglasses won't fit comfortably underneath.

Some really cheap THE full facers on Winstanleys at the moment including a couple of carbon XLs for under £70. I have a carbon T2 that I bought from them a few years back for £75 and really like it
