the good ladies son is now based in Paris so I need to sell his road bike - can you recommend any suitable forums/web sites please - and yes it is in the classified here already.

eBay can be a bit hit and miss, then there's the fees. I've had good results on here selling stuff as long as it's keenly priced.
One thing I do notice when browsing though is that a lot of people price things more than people are willing to buy them for.
Could try Pinkbike too, but I'm not sure how popular road bikes are.
Gum Tree etc too, but it depends on how desperate you are to sell. There's also lots of Facebook groups too. It all comes down to coverage really.
I find eBay and Facebook classifieds on the Facebook app get the most hits. Obv Facebook is free so preferable.
Just make sure you price it sensibly I guess - maybe I’ve gone a little low wih my last 2 bikes but one sold on a Thursday when I put it up for sale on the Wednesday night. The other took about a week. One was a carbon racer (Boardman), the other a full suss 650b trail bike (also Boardman).
Always sold mine on here.
