What's the cheaper decent version of the Go-Pro then for my lad ?
He wants to record rides as well as other random playing footie in the park type stuff.
Decent(ish) quality and helmet/body mount stuff ideally please.
Thanks
Put up a wanted add and see what comes up, you may be surprised what offers come in from people having stuff not been used, I know we have. you may just get lucky.
Given stuff to local kids who need it, helmets, bars, grips, mechs, tubes etc, to keep them going. We gave an older Go-pro to one last week along with all the fittings which had been in the loft since Abigale got a Session.
I think there are a few sub £100 ones on Amazon that get good reviews. One about £120 and comes with all sorts of bits seems to be a good buy.
Think it is this one but can't be 100%
I've just bought a GoPro Hero 7 black and the video quality from bar mounted riding was stunning using its hypersmooth stabilising.
However the software in the camera is plain awful. Locks up and does what it wants - so bad that it has just gone back for a refund. Real shame as I don't think anything comes close to the smoothness of video :o(
Look for a decent Hero Session second-hand. That are plenty on eBay from about £60.
The Session is a cracking little action camera. I can't understand why GoPro stopped making them.
Refurbished Hero+ for £80? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoPro-HERO-LCD-Touch-Screen-Action-Camera-Camcorder-Certified-Refurbished-/183458716333
Though it has a non-replaceable battery, which may be annoying.
Or refurbished Hero 5 Black for £180 is a good option. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoPro-HERO5-Black-4K-Waterproof-Action-Camera-Camcorder-Certified-Refurbished-/183010576289
I've just stuck one up for sale in the classifieds.
Techmoan is good for reviews of this stuff. Cheap GoPro copies etc.
