Fancy trying this route for the first time this weekend. Is it rideable or likely to be extremely wet/ boggy?
Did it at the weekend. Trail was in good condition.
I didn't rate the ride as that good but if you're not far away then why not. Not technical in the slightest and very up down up down.
Cheers. I've had it on the radar for a while
boardin bob where you from?
oop na scrap that doesnt mater glen finglas isnt were i thought it was.
Just back from doing this ride. I followed this guide
http://www.incallander.co.uk/cycling/glenfinglas.htm
Which suggested doing it in a clockwise direction.
Once I got past the reservoir the climb upto the highest point was brutal! I was off the bike and pushing for a fair bit as it was so steep and lasted for ages. Eventually when I got to the highest point at 2000ft where the cairn is, it descended back down but I couldn't help but think that this descent wasn't as steep as the ascent I'd just done.
It makes more sense to do it anti-clockwise which would give a much longer and steeper descent?
Yes, no, maybe?
It's a landy track all the way, but the scenery is fab and we loved it!
Setting off from the top...
I actually think it would be just as good either way. We did it clockwise and it was fun, as you can tell by MrCM's face on his new singlespeed ๐
Clockwise on a SS ๐ฏ
Kudos!
It was a nice ride. Nothing technical but felt really remote.
Got dogs abuse from plenty of walkers though despite calling "EXCUSE ME" in a polite voice from well behind them ๐
