Been trying to get to lots of different places in the north recently, not done degla Black this year so that’s todays ride. But read that there’s a red at Gisburn, I’ve never been. What’s it like? Easy to get to? What are the trails like?

It's possibly my favourite trail centre, I always try to get there when visiting my in-laws nearby.

I don't know what it is about the place but it seems different to all the Welsh ones, maybe because it doesn't start with an epic fire road climb.

I've always thought of it as a cross country centre rather than a trail centre if that makes sense.

I go every year when working in the area - it's OK, but I wouldn't go more than a couple of hours out of my way to ride it if I'm honest.

I like it. Used to go pretty regularly when lived an hour away, live 2 hours away now and still go pretty regularly.

Living in West Yorkshire it’s our nearest centre but still about an hour away. It’s alright but nothing special in my mind. Depends on where you are travelling from. Hamsterley is more fun in my opinion

I quite like Gisburn, seems to have a bit of everything. Certainly worth a visit.

I live 90 mins away and always end up going a couple of times a year - Hope Line/ Hully Gully/ Long Way Down are the highlights for me.  Worth at least one trip I’d say...

Used to go a lot, did my annual visit last week. Was alright, makes the most of what it's got in terms of elevation, but the section with the boardwalk has been closed for at least a year now, and while they've done some patching up, some bits are definitely worse for wear. Rode the new bit alongside Hully Gully, which was OK, but a one-time visitor shouldn't bother with this and do HG instead.

I wouldn't drive more than half an hour for it, and in the end I should have just done a quick ride in the Dales.

I really like Gisburn and drive about 75 minutes to get there.  I've attended a couple of trail building sessions in the past too.

It's a mixed bag of riding has been said above, smooth and quick bits, some rooty forest bits, a jump line, downhill trails (if that's your bag), etc.  If it's your first time I'd ride Hully Gully as suggested above, then ride the fireroads back and ride the Long Way Down too.

I love Gisburn, do a few runs of the DH lines rather then the Hope line imo, more fun/descent 😀

I've only been to 5 or 6 different trail centers but enjoyed Gisburn when I visited, pity I fractured my wrist!

As it's your first time, as mentioned above you should prioritise hullygully over long way down. It's the "money shot" trail at gisburn with the huge berms. Long way down is good fun though and worth looping back for if you've got the time/inclination.
