Hello,
does anyone know approximately what the Genesis latitude 853 weighs? I am specifically after a 20.5 inch model...
Cheers!

Don't suppose you would want some DTSwiss XMM forks with that would you? Got a deal on at Genesis. 850 frame and fork package.

Not sure on weight sadly. Just started with Genesis last week.

Nooooo, about a lb lighter than those. A medium sized 456 is over 5 1/2 lb, my old 853 framed Altitude (the Latitude will be a tiny bit heavier with its 44mm headtube and seatstay plate) was just on 4 1/2 lb including bolts and seatclamp in a medium. A 20.5 Latitude would at a guess be just shy of 5lb, the others you mention in the same size, more like 6lb.

Just for reference, now got a Ti Altitude instead of the 853, just over 3.4lb it was including bolts but no seatclamp (about 25g extra)! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think the Latitude was described as being the same weight as the Altitude if not a tiny bit lighter. Although the 44mm headtube and stay plate are heavier, the tubing profile has been custom reworked to remove the need for the head tube gusset/brace thingamy.

I've got a 19 inch latitude, don't know what it weighs but it's one of the lighter ones out there.

Great bike BTW.

Paul is correct. By using a larger headtube you have more weld area and don't need a strengthening gusset. Also the seatstays were changed between Altitude and Latitude frames which kept the weight down.
