Now, i've just started swapping a few bits onto the newly acquired prophet, and thought i'd give the headset a good clean/regrease at the same time.
I removed the stem, then top cap, underneath was a thin large dia. o-ring (only slightly smaller than the actual outside dia. of the headset), but, there is no recess/groove for this to sit into, its just trapped between two flat surfaces (the top cap and 1.5 - 1 1/8 adaptor) and so could come out.
(Hope that made sense ๐ )
Is this correct?
I managed to find a tech document off the fsa website and it doesn't look like the seal does locates in anything, also there should be one on the lower cup as well, which mine doesn't have, just a gap.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
Anyone....?
The seal sits between the bearing and the top of the headset and yes theer should be one at the bottom as well.
Can you seat it inside the cup on top of the bearings by flexing it?
Yes, it just sits in the gap, mine keeps popping out, and I also have never had one in the bottom.
