Gussets won't make any difference.

Doubt foam would either but why not give it a go, sounds like a laugh.

split a scaffold pole lengthwise and zip tie the halves around each tube?

Errm, buy a new frame?

Or fill the old one with stiffenituptainium?

Fill it with custard powder, its a newtonian solid, so smooth deflections from carving singletrack won't be affected. However, sharp twists will lock the powder particles and result in resisted deflection, resulting in a stiffer frame when needed, yet still keep the 'sprightly' characteristics much lauded in a woodsey singletrack scenario.

Science fact.

Use Birds Custard only though, supermarket own brands don't work.

Nah this only works if the custard powder is wet. Which is the opposite of gussets, they are stiff unless they are wet.

Taking this to its logical conclusion - just wrap the whole frame in zip ties..

Don't get wet confused with moist though, when it comes to custard powder such a mistake can be fatal.

Just don't put your finger in, or you'll never get it out again.

Another advantage is that, if caught in a survival situation, you can eat the custard.

There's a good chance it's not the frame, but the wheels you can feel flexing. I've experienced that more then once. Usually getting them properly retensionned helps a lot.

Failing that, I'd go for custard. 😉

Somehow I don't think I'm being taken seriously here.

Quite a few big manufacturers are experimenting with incorporating custard in their carbon weave.

And others have using carrots, hemp and bamboo as frame materials, so hopefully the perfectly mutationally balanced frame will soon be with us.

Make your frame flex less by using your own fibres, fast and slow twitch ones.

Are you suggesting he hacks off a quadricep and zip ties it to the top tube?

Only Easton use the raspberry additive in their CNT (Custard Nano Tube) bars.

If your frame is a Gary Fisher Cake you'll just need some fruit and a bit of whipped cream to have a GF Trifle.

Is it possible that it's a Chuck Norris flex. The problem isn't the frame flexing when riding. The frame itself is perfectly rigid, it's the rest of the universe which is, in fact, flexing.

This also happens to Chuck Norris's when his bike is stationary!!

Could blancmange be used as an altenative to custard?

Just wondered you say use Birds custard powder but could you use dare I say it ready made custard out of a tin in an emergency
And do think the frame in question is a Gary Fisher Cake so with the custard you could "quote" have your cake and eat it
