My float shock (Trance x2 08) works pretty well for my on-the-ground riding and is very active when I start leaving the trail. I'm 65kg and have it at 150psi (I bottomed it out on 140psi for the first time the other day on a jump and got a bit concerned) and the rebound has only 2 clicks left to maximum fast.

As I'm jumping about a bit more I don't know if I'm exceeding the bike's intended use...or don't have it set up right. It feels too linear, so doesn't treat a bigger hit any different to trail bumps.

I've looked into the air can service, which looks nice and easy. I can't find anything about servicing the damper unit inside. I'm curious to know whether my compression damping is set too low, the sticker says rebound is on the lowest and compression is on the middle.

I feel like simply putting more air in will remedy using too much travel at the expense of the traction and ride quality.

All help appreciated as usual ๐Ÿ˜€

Edit: I'm running a Pike at 120psi +/- at 140mm long which seems spot on for both the trail and heavier landings. I mainly ride wiggly singletrack with the odd jump or small set of doubles.

That would be because it not user servicing/tune-able... send it to a tuner (TF tuned/Mojo/Loco/J-Tech) and they will/can tune it to your requirements. All of them should be willing to have a chat about getting it setup correctly for your bike/how you ride
