Looking for a set of forks for a hardtail build.

I can get both the Fox and RS fork for about the same money, and have Fox on all our demo bikes, but are the RS rev's 20mm fork any good?

Has anyone used both and would like to comment?

Hello - I've used both. Having riden the fox on a demo week very pleased light and stiff but got a great deal on some 20mm 2010 revs from rutland and after a couple of rides so far so good. JUst fancied a change from fox forks cause I've got 2 pairs and after the 2010 revs have now gone up to 150mm I thought why not. If it helps the new rockshox look better too.

Hi Si

I quite fancy the Rev Team U-Turn Maxles from what I've heard/read so far. I quite like my 09 15mm Van 32s R's too and will eb keeping them for my hardtail (coil simplicity for winter) but the added stiffness, adjustability and lower weight appeals to me for my full suss.

Not sure if you got to read this over on MTBR but it is quite interesting and relatively un-biased.

If you do by chance have the odd spare set of Rev's at a good price I'd be very interested. I was sorely tempted by the 36's you did but I'm tying to lighten up a bit at the mo.

thanks guys, i probably give the Rev's a chance.

I can supply Fox 32's at very competitve prices (much cheaper than anywhere else!) but not so much with the Rev's.

Email me if you want a price ๐Ÿ™‚

If you're talking about the Rev Teams then yeah, go for it.

If the lower model without Blackbox damping, then the Fox might be the better bet (despite silly 15mm axle).

The blackbox damping is as good, or possibly better, than Fox's - but standard Rock Shox Motion Control falls well short of it, IMO.

That'd be my conclusion, the blackbox seem worth having. Friend has been riding blackbox reba's as a replacement to his pushed pikes previously and rather rates the blackbox. (for his Soul anyway)

Not sure on the new Fox Fit equipped forks this year tho. That might throw in another variable.

Thanks Si.

I've had QR15 150mm Talas on my Orange for about a year and I really like them. The Maxle Revs on my other bike have had to go back twice and I've now fallen out with them.

I'll stick to Fox, and at a pinch, Magura's.

Hmmm, i may just stick with Fox, give the new FIT stuff a run.

Also just compared the prices and i pay a fair bit less for the Fox.
