So my FOX 38’s could do with a lower leg service
Where is best to buy a service kit or is it cheaper to buy some parts from non mtb shops? (thinking fluids)
Anything extra I'll need? I've got a flat top socket for the fork’s top cap
I'm being reminded why I usually end up not bothering with lowers services. I've spent c£40 on the oils I need for the current 36, which are different from the oils that were specced for the last fox I did it for.
Now I'm looking at crush washers. Of course the last set I did the crush washer was 8mm on both legs and I've got some of those, but now one is 13mm I know you can get away with reusing but it's best not to. Surely these little bits of plastic must cost a few pence to produce but on eBay I can either buy a pack of 50 for £1.40 each. Singly the cheapest I can find is £2 but with a £3 postage charge and this is something that could actually go in a standard letter for 90p 2nd class.
strangely it's not something thats showing up on Aliexpress either (where you can often find stuff like this)

Fox are so bad for this. I just bought a 20 pack of 35mm RS foam rings for £20. Fox are typically £2 each.
RS sell a 50 pack of 8mm crush washers (which would do for one leg of fox) for £10. Fox charge £60! for the same. (and RS dont use 13mm anywhere)
… like not drive into things with your bike on the car?
Tell me they didn’t happen riding!
Alas it did happen riding, got cleaned up by a 4wd and dragged down the road. I didn’t do much better than the bike. 😳
