So what bike broken bike parts have you found other uses for?
I give you the FOX Factory pen holder!! (from my old FOX X2 rear shock) performs better as a pen holder than it ever did as a shock 🤣 🤣 🤣

I'm fairness, it performs better as a cross channel ferry than it does as a shock.

Ouch! 😬
Something to be mindful of if I ever get round to sorting a new MTB.
After all if I can save on ferry crossings by using my rear shock instead then it's a win win. Clearly it was designed to Float at least X2. 😉

Somewhere I have a pen holder made from the BB shell and a few inches of seattube from a Cannondale. Got it from my shop days when warrantied Cannondale frames (in their crack'n'fail era) just got sawn up by the shop cos it was too expensive to send them all back to the Netherlands. So the workshop had all sorts of funky Cannondale offcuts lying around.
I've made a couple of things from bike chains too.
The door handle in my LBS is made from a repurposed Dura Ace crank arm. Also the shop owner has a coffee tamper made from an old XTR hub (donated by me actually!). He also has salt and pepper shakers made from old Hope hubs.
When Manchester Velodrome was resurfaced a few years ago, I ended up with a fair bit of old track surface, a lot of which I gave away / sold and has variously become:
a mantelpiece above a fireplace
a picture frame
incorporated into jewellery (Rob Hayles, he makes rings and all sorts from titanium, carbon fibre, bits of Manchester Velodrome...) https://carbon-concepts.co.uk/
and I still have some which I'm hoping to turn into a coffee table.
I have made a towel hook from a shimano brake lever in my shower. Does that count?
My local suspension shop and sometime riding mate uses kashima stanchions for cupboard door handles. You can just spot them in the video he did when he moved shop a while back.
