Does the BFe deserve more "manly" forks?

Yes, they'll snap!
Depends on your style of riding really, still beefy enough for most riding but if you're a big guy or an aggresive rider I'd consider going for something 20mm instead.
Lyriks, 36s etc or maybe even new Revs.

Pretty much what I was thinking, although I don't really think the 15-20mm difference is an issue and would be no better off with Revs being Rockshox equivalent fork, ah well I've got the Talas already so may as well give them a go.

I was looking at a Soul before but quite a few people said even 140mm is a push.

I'm around 14st and do ride pretty hard so I think the frame is the right choice. And I do like the option of being able to fit bigger forks if I feel like it. I've had 36's on my last few bikes and was thinking of building something a little lighter, but I'm getting tempted to whack some massive forks on it now.

That frame screams for a 36, in Float guise would be my choice, i also know where they can be had for cheap ๐Ÿ™‚

go for a 36 then, you know you want to! si does indeed offer very tempting prices on 36's!

I think if I went bigger I would go really big and just skip 36s and Lyriks. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

The frame is irrelevant, it's what you do with it that'll dictate this not what frame you bolt the fork to. You could stick Sids on a BFe and as long as you ride it like a granny it'd be fine ๐Ÿ˜‰
