Maybe a little foolishly I have purchased (off a well known bidding site!) a Formula R0 Racing front brake in the Team Edition blue colour (not that that bit matters but trying to justify my purchase!!). now i got this at a bargain price, only problem is I cant find any advice/information as to spare parts of any kind! First and foremost brake pads (it didnt come with any). so my questions to the knowledgable out there...

1. is the "Racing" version of the R0 the same as the standard R0?
2. can i fit brake pads specified for "The One", "R1", "RX", etc or being as my brake runs an ovalised piston do i need a specific "R0R" brake pad
3. Any idea what mounting bolts i need to fit on a Rockshox Yari running a 180mm floating rotor?
4. am i a complete idiot for not doing my research first?

thank you

Are they the older style like this:

If so:
1: Don't know, maybe a slightly lighter version?
2: Yep, pretty sure they'll be the ones
3: Pretty sure the Yari is a 180mm standard size (ie 200mm needs an adapter) so M6 x (about) 16mm caphead. Don't just wind them in, check they are tightening the caliper.
4: Maybe 😉

Great brakes though, had mine for about 3 years and only needed one bleed. Loads of power, great modulation.

cheers for the advice!!

they look simular to those but the master cylinder is pulled rather than pushed by the lever if that makes a difference?

the above link should show you the ones i have.

Ooh, go on, how much did you pay? Been looking at the new ones for no other reason than they are new 🙂

Pad will be the same as the older RO's then:

Yeah how much?

I have two pairs of the standard R0's....awesome brakes and like stevied they have only needed one bleed in over 3 years of fairly hard use. I love them.

i dont want to upset anyone by saying how cheap they were (front only btw) and as they have no pads in them i've yet to check if i've bought a rotter!! 😳

but think dirt cheap and go lower!!!!

where do you get your pads from then? i was told by uberbikes components they didnt stock them!

I've settled on Superstar kevlars. Uber certainly used to stock them, as I bought a couple of pairs of their Race Matrix ones, but the quality and performance was a bit iffy.

I've had R1 pads from superstar, crc, Uber. Are these the ones you need?

Superstar are my normal 'go to' but they are out of stock.

These are cheap as chips on CRC. might be worth a go for a few quid to check the fit.
