Got some forks which have snapped under the 20mm axle, near the Allen key bolts. These have snapped pretty clean but I'm wondering if I can get these welded back together for safe riding?
Tried google but not really coming up with anything, my body done this before?
Can't get lowers as forks are oldish so repair would be best option.
I'd be tempted to say no, as there is not a lot of material to bond with there. Might be easier to look for second hand, damaged set of forks on ebay?
Nope - see here for a similar 'not on your life' Q+A session.

Presume as you say 'lowers' they are sus forks, so the material will be even more exotic and all the problems descibed above will be increased several orders of magnitude.
You would need a real specialist and even then its tricky would be my thought. some (many?) fork lowers are cast magnesium alloy which is very very tricky to repair.
Cast magnesium...very unlikely. Dont think its the material thats the issue, but the lack of it. I've seen castings "stitched" back up but theres plenty of material in them.
Ok thanks - talked me out ofit
Fox 36 lowers by any chance? If so as above advice really, they're beyond economic repair ( did look in to this a while back to double check)
It'll be cheaper to buy new lowers
Nah, thy were manitou stance.
Got some more forks 2009 Marz 160mm now, ditching the manitou
Fox 36 lowers by any chance?
mate of mine runs a set (hard) that have a crack in the lowers between the pinch bolts. he's not dead yet!
