Halfords spray wax.

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/grease/halfords-chain-wax-400ml#tab3

Supposed to be for motorbikes but works great. Doesn't pick up too much dust and even when the dust is washed/wiped off (what little there is) the wax remains.

This, it's quite good, but Rock and Roll is better.

Used this stuff for years in the old and new formula, use it all year round on all our bikes and never had a problem

Purple Extreme. It's a little bit thicker than most dry lubes, so it lasts a good while, and it doesn't seem to wash off at the first hint of water.

I am a big fan of Juice Lubes. I use Viking all year round but they do have summer specific products.

Just bought some Muc-Off dry lube because a) it is pink and b) Halfords had some in.

Is that a storm cloud I can see on the horizon?

At th moment, squirt, and it's been fine so far in the dry, it's staying clean even by dry-lube standards.

TBH I've never found much difference between any decent lube, crap ones are crap, as is engine oil, but anything muck-off, weldtite, R&R, etc seems much of a muchness.

Muc off dry lube, won some at a race & it's surprisingly good.

Tried the R&R stuff, probably wasted 3 times as much going everywhere, other than on the chain. Too thin, and the chain was always noisy by mid ride.

Putoline motorbike wax still for me- best dry lube, best wet lube. Pain in the arse to apply though, it's the only chainlube where you might burn your house down.

Epic Ride for me. Because, well..

Abnd while I'm on, I've just bought some Conti CX Speeds:

Comin' out of nowhere
Drivin' like rain
Stormbringer dance
On the thunder again
Dark cloud gathering
Breaking the day
No point running
'Cause it's coming your way

Ride the rainbow
Crack the sky
Stormbringer coming
Time to die
Got to keep running
Stormbringer coming
He's got nothing you need
He's gonna make you bleed

Rainbow shaker
On a stallion twister
Bareback rider
On the eye of the sky
Stormbringer coming down
Meaning to stay
Thunder and lightning
Heading your way

Rock 'n' Roll Purple...?

Bloody hell Harry, have you gone completely insane asking for advice on dry lube!!!

You will anger the rain gods now.

Its like binners and the small block 8 fiasco of last "summer" all over again!

Mods. You know what to do.

Sorry. Half way round on Monday my transmission looked like one of Nena's arm pits and changing gear was by written request only.

Ah! Some of my friends rave about the Chameleons and went to see them last year but I've never listened. I might play it on the way home as well.

On the road I use some dry lube that said road on the packet. It does seem to stay cleaner than MTB stuff, I guess MTB stuff is designed to be cleaned off every few rides to remove the dust/grit whereas the road just builds up black road gunk over weeks. It seems even runnier going on (same viscocity as water/ethanol/petrol) but dries almost invisibly where the MTB stuff leaves a thick coating of wax.

Profi dry lube for the last 8 years, all year round. It's from some boffins over in Germany and I think it's rather splendid.

I'm out on average 3 times a week doing circa 50miles and 1 can does me the whole year. I usually give the chain a quick squirt after I've hosed it / dried it post ride.

I don't like Squirt on road bike as it gets a bit black and sticky, this stuff tends to get knocked off on MTB, by undergrowth etc. On the road I like Fenwick's Stealth the best.

Thanks. I use Squirt on my summer road bike, but if I could find something longer lasting (but equally clean - I quite like Squirt for this) that would be perfect. I find Squirt isn't ideal if you're doing audax-type distances.

Might give Fenwick's a go.
