Do it!!

Mine arrived Monday, it's brilliant. Gelled with it straight away and it is so much fun to ride.

Rear moves a little under "normal" pedalling on the flat with pro-pedal off. But with it on it feels pretty stiff, not as stiff as a hard tail but very little flex noticeable to me.

Feels pretty light and nimble as well, 25lbs in shop before I added the reverb.

Mine arrived last Thursday and I had my first ride Sunday. Couldnt agree more, so comfortable, sweet handling and impeccable manners.

One thing I would say is that the carbon swing-arm by the bottom bracket is rather exposed to rock strikes. Had some quite big hits in Italy last month so made by own guard just to be safe.

Ano black ones ARE the fastest (fact).

So they are quite a flexy bike then? Glad I went for a much cheaper Anthem X instead, I never even bother using Pro Pedal, it doesnt need it ๐Ÿ™‚

Hence the reason I discounted it from my wish list after a test ride. Started off liking it but once the trail on the test ride started to get a bit more "knarley" and rocky that was it, not the bike for me.
Depending on the work situation next year a Transition Bandit is on the list of bikes to test along with a Remedy from the "main stream" bikes.
Whatever it is it could well be my last bike so will be buying something solid.

Rear end is not flexy especially if you use the 12x142 rear axle, which the transition bandit does not come equipped with. Great bike which I ride in rough and rocky terrain and it copes with it easily. Interested in what you made that little stick on guard from Leku?

I'm running 140mm Talas

I've got an ASR5c in slightly less boring white... running it with 120mm Fox Floats which seem to suit it pretty well.

I like the look of that Sugro.

Mine like MrBonds, except Alloy so White/Turq, with F120 FIT. Feels perfect for the bike.

I have 120mm Revelations on my Yeti, am considering getting them adjusted to 130mm as I have heard good things about the ASR on this much travel.

Leku - It that a crack running across the non drive side chain stay? Looks like an impact mark just behind it ๐Ÿ˜•

I've been waiting for mine to come for ages, and I was half-expecting this thread to be about a snapped chainstay or something. So imagine my delight. Can't wait for mine.

P.S. I'm getting the new 2012 Turquoise colour - looks sweet!

No. That is the edge of the heli tape. I put some down the inside of the swingarm so that any mud picked up by the back wheel does scour the surface.

Not an impact mark - just a bit of mud getting up the tape.

Ooooooo! And more questions... non-drive side, how has everyone routed their cabling? mine sits on top of the bottom bracket ๐Ÿ˜

Also - whats the biggest tyre you can get away with on the rear? There doesn't seem a whole lot of clearance with a 2.25 nobby nic!

I run cable over the bottom bracket as when riding it hovers above it and was worried about wear marks but none so far. I run continental X-kings 2.4 but I'm switching to bonty XR4 2.2 for winter. I have also heli taped up the rear in areas that may get marked by the tyres dragging mud and debris through.

chojin how much clearance do you have with that tyre? I am considering an ASR5 but mud clearance isn't great.

Bigjim I'll measure it when I get in and let you know.

And if you're lucky, I'll check the tyre clearance too ๐Ÿ™‚

Oooo such a tease.... Anyone tried or seen a write up of these with a CCDB (Cane Creek Double Barrel)?

Also with regards to forks I am aware that the limit is 140mm with an external headset. I have also read the pinkbike review (bike fitted with a 150mm WC Rev and external headset).
However with a parallel steerer 1 & 1/8" fork and a flush lower headset cup you could in theory fit a 150mm without changing the geometry and thus handling (over a 140mm set-up). However could this overload the headtube, anyone tried it?
