Flickering and then goes on to low, and then can flicker back on to high but mainly stays on low. Anyone had same problem and any idea how to fix it? Thanks

Are you sure the battery cap is screwed on tight, if its a little loose your symptoms can occur.

Otherwise loose connections or just the battery is a loose fit in the torch and you may need to shim it out a bit.

Most likely the first reason though

I had this yesterday, battery end was tight but the bulb end was wasn't. A quick firm twist and it was all sorted

can twist bulb end and it can go high or low, same with battery end, but always reverts back to low whether tightly screwed both ends, loosley tightened or a combination of the two. With that in mind I shall try the shim the battery out a bit. And look for loose connections!

I had that with a tesco cree torch,(hold the batteries together as you would insert them and put a wide strip of electrical tape round them this helps hold the batteries together and shims the side so they do not rattle about as much)

The LED holder inside the casing comes loose and causes those symptoms. Unscrew it at the light end and tighten upp all the innards.

Related but different problem on CREE Trustfire TS801 torch.

Similar to DX torches everyone's talking about, but I got mine from eBay.

When I was out on a night ride the other night, a couple of times it flashed 3 times then cut out and went dead. This happened with both batteries.

Yet when I got back to the car and stuck my helmet in the back seat, it switched itself on again.

When I got home I tried the first battery that had done it and it, too, was OK and apparently not short of juice.

Anyone else come across this?

i dropped mine ever so slightly onto grass, slipped out of hand, wasnt hard surface, not worked since ๐Ÿ™

so im guessing they are quite tempremental inside ๐Ÿ™

i know dropping is never going to help, but onto grass??!?!!? still you gets what yous pays for ๐Ÿ™‚

guessing with being bounced around on head etc may explain it if they are weak inside and cant withstand being bounced/dropped/ moved around alot

O_W - there's nothing to break as such, it's more likely it just had a poorly soldered joint somewhere that's come loose. Get it stripped and see what's what ๐Ÿ™‚

I solved my flickering problems by swapping the end caps of 2 different torches! One other thing to check, make sure the inside of the switch end is tight - get some needle nose pliers into the holes and tighten it up.
