Wanted one for 15 years and just about to commit to a frame purchase. Any owner experience welcome - at 5ft 9, should go size large? Always find 17 inch frames a little small seat post insertion wise. Get the impressions they are relatively light frames.
DPx2 or Cane Creek at the rear?
Large has an 18” seat tube, that could really limit dropper options at 5’9” (I’m also 5’9” and wouldn’t touch a bike with an 18” seat tube these days). What length of reach are you after?
Also note that the DPX is now the Float, just to avoid confusion
Not sure what price you’re looking at spending on a frame, but you can get a full bike for £2.5K at sunset

Since 2016 I seem to see a lot more oranges cracking, at first it was just the FS but HT as well. It may just be due to social media
I've a segment so vaguely related to the Evo. Fitted with minion & dissector and only weighs 28lb but it is the factory version. New Evo is lighter again with the split swingarm.
I'm 5'11" and on a large which fits great, even did twentyfour12 on it (with xc tyres obviously).
Yer, seen that complete bike price. Which ever way I’ll be going down the interest/interest only route. I’ve got some nice forks/wheels/brakes to swap across but still need to spend £300 on worn out parts which I wouldn’t have to with a complete bike purchase. So trading a better shock on the frame only against this, plus the price I get for moving kit on I don’t need.
