I'm planning on fitting a cut down Gorilla tape to my new LB rims(seems to be what Enve use so it's good enough for me). But regardless of which tape you use (stans/gorilla/superstar etc) is the width of tape that critical? I guess the main point is that it creates an airtight seal, but must it go al the way to the vertical part of the rim? Taking that question a bit further, does it matter if it laps up the vertical part a little, or indeed is a good idea to ensure it does? If it does, will this slightly affect how the tyre bead sits against the side of the rim?
You're meant to cover the whole width of the rim bed (horizontal) but not extend up the rim wall (vertical), I used a full width roll of gorilla tape and started a cut for the correct width and then just torn it along its length (like you do across to tear a piece off) as I wrapped round the rim
You won't get a seal between the bead of the tyre and the rim unless there is tape there IME.
So I always put tape right to the edge but not up the vertical edge.
Cool. So it must go at least to the edge of the rim bed, that makes sense. As it's a slight curve, it's probably not massively critical to the fraction of a millimetre if it goes around this curve a little, but don't be an idiot and extend up the rim wall.

When I did my flow ex I used superstar 29mm tape instead of the 25mm supplied Stans tape. the internal bead width is 25.6mm on the flow ex so just make sure the tape is right. The quality of the superstar tape is no where near that of the Stans but it still worked.
Pretty sure it's meant to run up the bead, fited 25mm rim tape to my Arch Ex rims (21mm internal width) as recommnded by Stans and it does extend up the bead somewhat.
