I'm trying to fit some Superstar kevlar pads in my Formula RX on my Zesty.

With the new pads fitted I can only just get the wheel and it will barely turn as the brakes are binding. I've tried to push the pistons back with the old pads but they just seem to spring back.

What next? Do i need to let some fluid out and then bleed the brakes?

Help please!

If the piston is pushing back, you need to let out some fluid.

Or the pads are too thick- some cheapo ones are.

Could be what TJ said. I've sanded all the paint off the back of Superstar pads to make then fit better before.

Thanks guys, I think I'll give the back of the pads a sand down tomorrow. If that doesn't work then I'll have to get a bleed kit and let some fluid out.

Cheers

You don't need a bleed kit for this. Loosen the cap/bleed screw on the lever, push the pads back, tighten up the cap/bleed screw. Use kitchen roll to catch the excess fluid. Quicker than sanding the pads, and solves the problem not the symptom.

All sorted, thanks guys.

I just let some fluid out of the bleed screw on the lever at the same time as i pushed the piston back. Thanks oldnick.
