Got some 2017 yari forks and thinking of changing the damper to the rc3 charger unit . Are they easy to fit or is it the job for a pro

Very easy, lot's of guides online. Pretty much undo top and bottom threads, remove old damper, fit new damper, tighten top and bottom. Over simplifying, but not much more to it.

That's missing the biggest steps of the Yari (Motion Control) removal. You need to remove the top cap and throw away the compression assembly, undo and unseat the foot nut, repeat on the spring side, remove the lowers, remove the circlip at the bottom of the stanchion, pull out the rebound assembly and rod, throw that away, put fork back together, drop in new damper, ride (this misses out the oil related parts)

Biggest thing to remember with doing any fork maintenance is make sure everything is very clean on the outside at least and do it in a clean place. Don't get any grit or dirt in there.
