Woop got my first KOM today (160 riders too so a proper one, not one I've set up myself where no one goes).

Do you get a notification when it gets taken?

Probably by about this time tomorrow I expect. Someone out there will already be plotting it's recapture.

What makes you think you'll lose it again? Don't be so pessimistic.

I stopped getting the emails ages ago BTW, dunno why but I don't miss them.

You'll be flagged, and commented on by the c*nt who had it previously asking you for HR, power data to prove you actually rode it.

Thats what happened to me anyway..... ๐Ÿ˜†

Bell ends like that should be banned from Strava, just to upset them.

You will also get people checking you weren't using an e-bike if it is a climb.

Well done.

Don't expect it to last.

You will get a notification.

You'll get the 'uh oh' email tomorrow, followed by the name of your local e-bike shop as the rider.

I once got a notification telling me I'd lost a KOM. Didn't even know I had a KOM, so it was actually quite a nice surprise.

It was 22mph average so doubt an e-bike flag will apply.

Off road decent. 160 riders on the board. I was testing my new rock razor (see thread from 2 days ago lol).

If someone flags it how do they verify whether it is them talking nonsense or me cheating?

Wasn't wearing a heart rate monitor, but for what it's worth I sure as hell know it was at 188 (my max) for a good 40 seconds of it!

I just got one of those bloody uh oh emails ๐Ÿ™

You weren't riding in Swansea were you? ๐Ÿ˜†

@flyingmonkeycorps, I get them now and again, I think it's when someone makes a segment after you've ridden it fastest previously and then someone else goes faster.

Oh, didn't know about an e-bike flag. Round here, E-Bike Shop, a real bricks n' mortar e - bike shop has been mopping them up. Fair enough with that username, there is no disguise! Just advertising I suppose. (as I am doing again for them...)

Weirdly enough, I've got eight KOMs and have never had a notification email of losing one. Which tells me either that I set such blistering times that nobody can come close or that they're in such out of the way places that nobody really cares.

You won't get a notification if some steals a downhill KOM.

He's right: "Segments with an overall negative grade will not generate a Lost KOM/QOM email or in-app notification. We want to nurture good behavior within the Strava community and felt that encouraging competition on downhill segments didn't fit very well with that objective."

Good move IMO.

That's why I don't get them, I'm shit uphill! Not that I ever had many going down.

Wasn't that brought in after a guy in California got the uh-oh email and promptly went out and killed himself in a head on with a car? Think his family tried to sue Strava but not sure what the outcome was
