Morzine and Les Gets are basically the same place, just a mile and a bit apart by road. If staying in either for fun, I'd pick Morzine as it's bigger.

Not been but I always preferred the sound of Les Arcs rather than morzine et al. Must go myself next summer.

Morzine 100% for your first trip - seriously! its so good I moved there full time - I have ridden quite a bit in Les Arc but the variety the PDS lifts give you is unmatched
