It's really nice to be able to design your own building. Half is my office, half my workshop. Sadly between design and build, I somehow got involved with the geeky hobby of flying model aircraft. Well crashing really.

Still I've managed to cram it all in.

Behold the might of the TOOL WALL

It'll never be as tidy again.

I even found space for the rest of the family's bikes. Good of me I thought!

Still need to install the beer fridge, but otherwise it's about done. I'd better go and do some riding really.

Very Nice. What hooks are you using on the bikes?

They are "Delta Wall Mount Leonardo" is says here on this invoice! I found them for about eight quid each. Had them at our old place and they're just really simple and effective.

Impressive.

Now get some proper pedals and some decent bar tape for the road bike.

Alex - that is really nice. I'm toying with the idea of converting our garage into something like that - or just building a shed for the garden as a home office. Decisions, decisions.

That's not a road bike, it's a cross bike ๐Ÿ™‚ NBT, it was sideways Tim's fault. I went in for an inner tube or something and left with a carful of stuff. You know how it goes! 'bout time I came up your way so to speak, I'll be in touch. Haven't ridden the Pace for ages.

The office is a bit Swedish Sauna currently. But I am NOT painting/plasterboarding/etc/etc ANYTHING else this summer. Well apart from the rest of the house ๐Ÿ™

Be better when it has stuff in it. Including me and away from those pesky children. Tomorrow's job is to fit the rest of the window locks and make sure the "you'll hear that in shropshire" alarm works properly.

The rest of our house is in bits, it's nice to be able to hide out in something that's actually tidy. We were lucky to have an existing slab (from some old stables), local firm built it, we did all the stuff inside, so it wasn't stupidly expensive.

Well that's my view, not sure my wife is *quite* so convinced ')

What have you done with the garden furniture, barbeques, bags of compost, piles of old tyres, wine racks, car maintenance stuff, knackered wheels and general crap that reside in my "workshop" then?

I refused to allow them over the threshold ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I am apparently in the slot to build a large shed/chicken house over the summer for all the rest of the sh!t we seem to have acquired.

Honestly how Carol (my long suffering wife) could have even considered trying to offload the lawnmower into my shrine to bike destruction, I'll never know.

So to answer your question "currently, in the house". Oops.

My wife is a bit concerned about our priorities. Although I had to clear the bikes out of the house so we had space for all the underfloor heating stuff and five pallets of wooden floors! It's quite scary looking at it all.

I think it's better than the last one. Better designed anyway. I'm just lucky to have somewhere out of the house for all my hobby stuff.

That was my end of project beer yes. In fact, it might have been the second one ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't intend to work in there much. It's a nice quiet place for a beer!

You need some skirting boards.

Not a bad start but it needs a "beer fridge"

I've got some skirting boards. They are the shelves! Beer Fridge is currently in the house doubling as our family fridge. Bit of a disaster but waiting on finishing kitchen before it'll become available to be installed in its' rightful place ๐Ÿ™‚

Locks, Yep. Window Locks. Yep. Alarm connected to the one in the house. Yep. We live in a pretty rural area which is good in terms of lack of local tea leaves, but the local farms have lost the odd tractor! so I'm taking no chances.

I've got a great workshop, a bit small, but double glazed, heating, fridge for keeping my beer and sports drinks cool, tea making facilities, an oven for baking paint etc, pine workbench with 4 chairs, a sink with running water for degreasing chains and stuff, and a door that leads into the rest of the house.

I just need to find a way to stop my wife thinking it's her kitchen...
