Any one ridden the downhill trails around here? How are they?
rocky and gnarly or quick and flowing
What are the decent companies running holidays down in this area?

They're good, very good. A mix of styles. We went out with just ride who did us a 5 day package that involved riding the trails in finale itself, a day with riviera bike and a day riding the trails near finale in calizzano.
The simplest option would be to go with freeride finale. They run a daily uplift and guide service and can sort accomodation for you as well.
