There's some warmth from the sun, birdsong and green things poking out of the ground. Have a great riding weekend all.

Jumps and berms today, gravel ride tomorrow

Extra hours worked meant I could take a flexi day today for a very much needed bike ride. More sun than I was expecting, and my route gamble - making a nice loop but including some tracks that can be very muddy - paid off.

Just nipped out for a ride into Leeds on the canal, well not quite into Leeds cos theres this nice little pop up type boozer on the way. I'll just have one before heading home.

Plastic glass but nice beer, some west coast IPA, can't remember what is was called though.

Was delivering some training to ITTs this afternoon, so early Friday finish - enough to get out in the light for my head clearer this week. Warm in the sun but it soon dropped below the treeline.

Not the most successful day, glad it happened on the way up, not down, and only a 4 mile fairly flat scoot home.

Serious headwinds at times, but lovely solo local 35 mile loop on back roads and gravel, with one section of single track.

We finally got the go ahead for non technical rides from Kevin's Consultant so today was the first ride since 8th July last year and his Alps injury.

It's great to see him out on the bike and riding with him again

@vmgscot - scrolling through the pics, I thought you were doing a massive send there 🤣

No pics today, but three of us on ebikes today. Think it's actually one of the first rides I've done where I haven't been on my own that it's been only ebikes. Cracking ride, but not very spring like

@Tracey.
I hope Kevins shoulder injury continues to improve.
Having been there myself I genuinely feel for him.

Had shit loads of other injuries but my shoulder really messed with my mental wellbeing.

Horrible and slimey, cut the ride short, but good to get out 🙂

Thanks. Still along way to go with the upper shoulder movement. The deltoid nerve is severely damaged which is hindering recovery but everything from today's ride was positive.

Really busy day today but got out all the same as rain due again tomorrow. Leeds' finest urban grot singletrack and tech. Was ace.

Reeksy Jr requested a gravel ride as a change for a Sunday ride, so I suggested a more interesting ride from the front door.

It was stupidly hot and humid (again). Loads of options to shorten the ride but he kept going and did his longest ever ride at 45km. And washed the bikes. And wants to do it again!IMG_7244IMG_7247IMG_7249IMG_7251

Solo HT ride. Only 12 miles - legs were aching from yesterday's ebike ride. Yes really 🤣

Grenoside yesterday morning was lovely. Today is shit so just a dog walk.

Kids on bikes rock. My son, 15 now, had a bit of time away but he's fully back into it now and that means I get more riding as well 😀

First ride out on the full suss in a while, freshly serviced suspension it felt tip top. 👍 Afew dismounts but that proves you're trying hard enough

No riding today, but i used rivet lugs today for the 1st time to bolt in the bike stand into my van. Fits perfectly (completely by accident) so the rear wheel is just squeezed by the door. No ratchet straps needed here!

Went over the river to England for the first time in ages:

Over Brockweir

Looking upstream, with Brockweir on the opposite bank.

Plenty of steep Beech woods to play on:

Beech woods

There's a maze of Byways on the English side, mostly suited to pootling. A couple on nice short sections, but mostly abandoned road that would suit a gravel bike I guess.

Nice latch:

Latch01

Years ago in MBR (?) there was a whole page of latches and this latch reminded me to start my own collection.

Some Bike art?

Bicycle artThe final descent I last rode many moons ago. I'd forgotten about the old school warp speed grass descending, with a full on panic as the next gate approaches. Home in the distance:

Brockweir heights

Yesterday was a short gravel ride but with hill efforts/sprints.
Today was a play at the side of yair I don't normally ride. Some pretty steep stuff over there

Windy, showery, grey and muddy ride today. Didn't feel particularly spring like, although it wasn't cold. Felt pretty good though, think the lack of booze and better sleep is helping.

Had to stop for the helicopter picking up aggregate then ferrying it across the eastern Moors near Curbar/Owler Bar.

Despite me being so impressed with the new Forekaster recently, there was some sort of antigrip coating sprayed over everything this week. Loved the colour of these fresh chips!
