Do these exist as built wheelsets or is it a bit niche so would need the hubs and rims to be built up...

I have a nice carbon fatbike frame to build up and I already have 80mm fat wheels so would like another skinny set to give a simple light hardtail option.

My brother has done this too, he had to get them built up. I imagine the likes of spokesmanwheels etc will be able to sort you out.

Yeah, mate has some on a pinion gearbox fatbike, built them up himself, can't see you getting any "off the shelf"

When I got mine, there weren’t any wheelsets (IIRC on one used to do one?), so had some WTB KOMs built on to Hope Fatsno hubs, worked well.

you can definitely build a skinny wheelset for a fatbike frame, but it’s relatively niche in myy opinion and you’ll likely be better off having something custom built rather than finding a wide off the-shelf option

I built a set to singlespeed over winter (we don't get snow round here but by Christ we get mud).  The mud clearance is nice to have when bog-snorkelling

It won't be that much of a faff so long as you know what hub/rim combination you want. I'm sure there was someone on the old TwentyNineInches blog who'd done exactly this, and IIRC Jones bikes have fat bike front spacing?

Slam 69 will build you a set. Its like having another bike, well worth it.

Calvin from park tools did a video where he built some up, there was also an on-one wheelset they did that was a thin rim and fat bike hubs, however these were basic hubs and didn’t take the newer wider range cassettes or fit my 150mm fork. In the end I did as above, bought some 29er rims with a 40mm ID and built onto hope fatsno hubs with 29 x 3.00 tyres. I’ve used these for bikepacking and they’re great, still comfy but noticeably faster and roll over things well- but fat bike wheels are still better at fun stuff.
