Happy birthday Geoff. I'm working on the premise that I enjoyed my twenties...and am loving my thirties. When I turn 40 next year...it's going to be ace.
Turned 40 at the start of August, has been much better than 39 as I've been riding loads more
Your still a young un , book yourself a alps trip like I did for my 40th , best holiday ever.
I'm not far off 40 meself, and not bothered at all by it.

I'm 45 and I have more endurance/up hill climbing strength than the younger riders in our group. The youngest being 19 years! 😉
We also have a 60 year old in our group and he wins pretty much what he wants to, but he is a freak! 🙂

44 here and the body feels much the same as when in my 20's. Definitely have more stamina now.
Don't worry about it mate, sure you're fitter than many people I know in their 20's.

Being in your 40's in great 🙂 for my 40th I headed off on a 3 week road tour round the biking hotspots of Utah and Colorado - had such a great time I nearly forgot exactly which day was my birthday!
Does life go downhill from now? Does it heck! Just got back from 2 weeks high alpine mountaineering in the Mont Blanc area, and planning of doing lots more. Age in years doesn't define who you are or what you do, it's your attitude that counts. I'm more keen now to head off and explore the world and challenge myself than when I was younger, combined with being more confident and honest about myself.
So have a fantastic time today, and get ready to enjoy your 40's cos they rock 🙂
