I rated the previous edition of the Specialized Armadillo Crossroads, but having just got home from my commute along a towpath to find flint has penetrated the main tread & caused a puncture i'm thinking quality has gone down hill. Anyone else noticed any difference?
While i'm on the subject, any recommendations for puncture resistant tyre with sufficient tread for year round towpath(it's not surfaced) commuting (it's not surfaced).

Schwalbe Marathon Extreme DD - not cheap, but excellent grip, last for ages and virtually puncture-proof.
