I have just ordered a new soul in small and am wanting to order my forks.(fox 32 F120 Remote QR 1.5 taper) I will be using it for XC racing and trail riding. Am I right in thinking you can put spacers in it to take it down to 100mm travel if the 120mm feels too long for racing and could someone explain what the 1.5 taper thing means? Will this fork work with my new beast!? If anybody has any other thoughts I would be greatful.
nope - tapered forks are wider at the bottom of the steerer, you need a straight 1 1/8 inch steerer on your fork

120mm will be fine on the soul
"1.5 taper" relates to the steerer tube. It means that it tapers from 1 1/8" at the top of the steerer to 1.5" at the crown of the fork. Cotic Souls don't have a tapered headtube, they have 1 1/8", so avoid this buy and look for a Fox fork with a 1 1/8" steerer.
As above plus second a 120mm fork will be great - i have the exact same set up

yup just got 2011 F120 FIT remotes lowered to 100mm 🙂 Just a spacer 🙂
