I've been hankering after a decent compact camera for a while to take on trail rides and do the views justice better than my phone can, but I couldn't think of a decent way of carrying it.

I don't ride with a pack; I don't want to smack eleven bells out of it on the top tube oo somewhere else on the bike; I don't want it in my trouser/shorts pocket; I don't want it on my hip or my back in case I fall on it.

I don't want to split my rides between fun riding and photo riding.  You never know when you're going to really feel like pushing it, or see some particularly beautiful lighting.   I want a way of taking my camera with me that's unobtrusive while riding, safe for me and safe for the camera, so I can take it on every ride and capture what I want to when I want to.  I decided I needed a shoulder/waist holster, so it can sit around my belly, probably between layers.

Tooling about trying to find something like this on the internet, when I realised: Aha!  I have already have precisely that - an avalanche transceiver holster.  I can even use the same elastic tether to attach the camera.

Extremely limited audience for this, I imagine - not expecting replies!  Still: 😀

And a fraction of the price of a 'proper' camera strap or sling!

What is the internal size of that pouch roughly/would it fit a compact mirrorless with an external (short) lens or just a compact with a retractable/flush lens?

LX7 fits fine in an ortovox 3+ pouch, smaller length and width than the beacon, but maybe twice the depth. Just back from a ride.  Worked really well, pretty much forgot about it while riding, especially downhill.
