So the old elbow on saddle / forearm length bike fitting technique....

Obviously this is only a rough fitting method, but does this still apply with 'modern geometry'? How far should your fingers reach if the bike is suitably long, low 'n slack? 8)

The magazines would have us think no bike is any good unless it's a foot longer than one from the 90s...
