I will tentatively sign up for this one, however my knee is making nasty little gristly sounds after the weekend so I'll make a call on it on wednesday.

I'm out 🙁

Seems long distance singlespeeding just doesn't work for me, regardless of what gear I'm running or wether I sit or stand, my knees still go nasty!

I plan to head out but earlier - just in case you want to meet/avoid me.

I'll be on a white Pompetamine with carbon forks and Woodchippers, bullying any passers by 😛

The clouds are looking a bit dark in them hills.

If anyone fancies a spot of riding closer to the centre of town I'd be happy to show a small group the routes I ride.

It's significantly more technical than anything in the Pentlands, and alot more fun. Takes about two hours depending on your legs.

I'd be happy to meet people by Holyrood palace at 18:30. But only a small group of maybe 2 or 3 at a push.

It's all ridable, up and down, but those with less confidence on a bike might struggle with some of the more technical bits. I'll be there on a grey Banshee Spitfire.

Planning on leaving town 5:30pm but if I have to work late I might see you - will confirm if so.

Presumably your stuff is "secret"?

The location is very very obvious but the riding lines are not well known, I never see anyone else on them and i've been riding them daily for about 2 years.

I could meet at 6pm if that makes it easier on people. Would be finished by 8pm unless people would like to practice the lines.

Pentlands were in good nick on sunday, black hill was dry apart from the usual bog crossing area, which was nice, phantoms a bit too wet still.

ahhhjrene, might see you there. It's my "local" too. If i'm not there by 6 or 6.30 (whatever you decide, actually I can only do 6.30) don't wait. Likewise if numbers are more than 2 or 3, i'll amuse myself.

Cool. 18:30 would be good, it'd mean i'd get to put the boy to bed before heading out. That sound ok?

Out the front, across the road from parliament at 18:30.

Anybody else up for it? Need to keep the number small though, maybe one other.

too early for me but sounds interesting, have ridden there a few times, technical stuff sounds good/scary though. I'll maybe head to pantlands for 7 and stalk hervelo if no one else is going.

I am considering a run out to the pentlands. Lights will still be needed wont they?

I will also be on a bike that is around 53 sizes to small for me as it's the wife's bike and I dont have a MTB built up at present.

No problem ahhhjrene, waited for a few minutes and set off for a wee spin. Lovely night for it and it was bone dry! Another time.

Nice ride lads - would have liked to do a bit longer but didn't think to bring the lights to work this morning. Trails seemed in good nick by and large.

My apologies for earlier. My 6 month old was rushed to the sick kids following an allergic reaction to some scrambled egg.

I normally ride the local steeps every night after the boy has gone to bed so if your ever in the mood for a riding buddy just drop me an email (in profile).

I hope the boy is okay now Mr Rennie. I was up in the Pentlands a little bit earlier and broke the bloody wheel again.

Is this the new Unbranded Wednesday night rides back in action? I'm keen for a close-to-home jaunt next week as I'm on call.

Boy got discharged at 13:00. He's grand now.

I'll be out on my local loop with a mate tonight. I'll be at Holyrood at 18:30 if anyone fancies joining us.
