MAKE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE QUICKER - LARGE CHAINSET - FAR BETTER THAN SLICK TYRES!
Deets here, what are you waiting for?
Shall we spam them with stupid questions?
Is the seller wrong ?
if you commute on your mtb it would be ideal would it not
seller even says you may need to change mech chain etc
Pretty much any MTB nowadays has miniscuoe gears on it. BITD I had a 50t Pace ring on my bike with a 11t on the back and it was used regularly - 50mph off road was my fastest! I do miss triples for those monster gears sometimes.
It's true. Bigger chainrings will make your bike go faster. It's just people have gotten lazy and prefer to spin smaller gears these days.
Is the seller somebody you have an axe to grind with al?
Its almost certainly not going to fit on anything that looks remotely like a modern MTB either. You'd need a ~130mm square taper bottom bracket to get the rings to clear the chain stay.
Then your front mech won't have the required throw.
£75 for a 16 year old chainset (without a BB)?
Nah, cheers but I'll pass...

Damn straight grandad!
In my day "gears" were the preserve of lip wristed mincing dandies, real men had a fixed two stage drivetrain like this:

A single pedal stroke from a proper pair of thighs (fueled by pork pies, and three pints of stout) could propel you the entire distance of LEJOG...
Kids these day... [Mutters and shakes head]
Would have bought but seller didn't list the total tooth count, so just waiting to hear back on that.
Well it gave me a laugh. Block caps, daft price...
