Nearly time!
I'm starting to get excited now 🙂
Decided I'll not be on the belt-drive bike as my legs aren't up to SS up big hills. So I'll be on the ti Voodoo with a Rohloff, and spangly new Magura Thor forks.
Bedded in new brake pads yesterday in preparation. Just got some new tyres too for all that lovely wet slate.
I guess it'll not be as dry as last year, but it never will.
Can't wait!!!!
I'm going (my 4th Dyfi)!
But I've done the least amount of riding in advance of the event 'ever' and I'm slightly worried I won't make it round! Still, I'll be doing it on my recently built Five so looking forward to blasting down those slatey descents!
It's my 9th. I missed the 2nd and 3rd as I was in NZ.
Last year's was probably the best ever. I certainly enjoyed it

woot! woot! I'll be there. 6th dyfi now.
I'll be there with my brother-in-law, he's a different level to me but looking forward to the ride and social aspect and hopefully not destroying my bike!
Yup this is my 6th in a row looking forward to those slippy slatey descents :o)
woot! 1st one for me...
Aye will be there too, be prepared for wet feet :p
Yep,7th one for me,don't think it will be as dry as last year though...
Any entry's going spare myself and a mate will take them, either one or two.

will be there, dont know how many i've ridden, but Quite a few.
riding rigid with gears this year for a change from usually riding SS
3rd for me. I'll be at the back somewhere dragging my orange alpine up the hills - descents are always worth it though.
Still haven't decided which tyres I'll be sliding around on yet though.
Thought I might have a bouncy geary bike for this one......rigid ss again 😕
I'll be there for the 10th time.
On an attentioncycle of some kind.
Looking forward to it. Not been able to do it for the last 2 years, will be great to be back! 🙂
Number 10 for me, still not getting better, still getting in the way:)
Me not on a look at me can a squeeze your tyre kinda bike ......
If it rains this week then I'm bringing arm bands so I float!
Yeah, heading over and riding an ego chariot*
*Any questions will be charged at £1 per question and given to air ambulance
Bub Do i need body Armour ? £1
Also if i ask you if youd like more beer and cheese will that cost me £2 or do you have any BOGOF's in mind 🙂
Number six here.
What tyres for wet slate descents? 🙂
I'll be there. - camping from friday - does the camping field drain well? 😕
I'm in, 4th one in total but 1st SS. Looking forward to it 😀
SS here and looking forward to a good moan about the whole affair again. Hopes there's a rusty green bike lying around for evening skills classes again. Hope the see saw of truth has been rebuilt and reinforced and hope I can find my other seal skin sock before I set off. Maybe two extra teeth on back this year instead of one 🙁
IIRC it was mentioned that this year things would be a bit "different"
Any thoughts what's happening?
3rd one for me this year. Missed it last year due to a herniated lumbar disc so will be good to ride it instead of just watching it from the bottom of the world cup descent like I did last year.
Seriously not fit enough though. Longest ride this year has been a piddling 30k so I'll be spinning a granny gear somewhere near the back.

Maybe riding up the descents and down the fireroads? 😯
*NOTE TO SELF* Bring ear plugs in case I am riding anywhere near the Swede 😆
You running a 32 on the rear this time then Swede? 😉
Yeah 19 on front 😀 Really stressing me out it is. 19 or 20 👿
I did have to have a little walk towards the end but you bastards made me do the extra loop. I won't be falling for that one again!
Can I ask that this year when I'm struggling on an uphill, convincing myself that I'm about to have a cardio you SSers you don't come past me pat my back, say 'keep at it' and then head off at warp speed as if you're heading up as if you're riding on the flat!
It's the Machynlleth comedy festival this weekend as well, http://www.machcomedyfest.co.uk/ some good acts on and not all in Welsh.
Swede.
I'm going for a 9 on the rear. 😉
3rd for me. I am hoping for good weather, if its anything like last weekend I'm staying in my tent on sunday. What colour saddle for fire road climbing?
So who's giving the Trek Sawyer race a go on the Saturday?!
From the Facebook page:
We have a brand new Trek Sawyer 29'er to give away over the weekend. To be eligible to win it you will need to turn up and sign on on Saturday. Then once you have collected your number you can try your hand at a timed lap of the 'Sawyer loop' - racing head to head with another rider against the clock. Times will be recorded on a leader board, and we will take the fastest rider, as well as the 20th, 30th and 50th fastest, and take them through to a secret non-bike decider on Sunday afternoon to find a winner. The track will stay open until dusk on Saturday, so don't leave it too late.
Very disappointed Stu!
I've done it more times on a ss than a geared bike so time for a change.
Well that and the fact i'm getting old and slow. 😥
Too old and slow to pedal 4"tyres without gears anyway.
Slips on 20t immediately with no loss of self worth what so ever 😀
Going for full immersion in the plastic duck pond this year....again 🙁

It's much deeper this year 🙂
1st go for me this year.
I'm in, first time here.

Camping the Sunday too because i think i may fall into a coma after.

Something has just struck me.. how long is the Dyfi?!

About 60km, but some road to get into the forest. Then its non-stop up and down until the finish.
Sometimes they only let the first 100 people do the full course, everyone else skips a loops towards the end - I think.
Stu - are they your videos on YouTube?
Thanks Matt. Thought it was about that

My back end will sink.
Can't be bothered to camp this year so doing a day trip over and back. Swede just take your gears off, it'll save weight

Pah was hoping for a dram or two!
My first Dyfi Enduro... Enjoyed the winter warm up so much thought I'd give the proper one a go... Unfortunately I've done very little training so it should be an unforgettable experience... 🙂
Taff.
If you're talking about the trailmincers videos then yes they are mine.
Rich.
You missed a session last night.
so to help answer the which tyres question - is the route rocky or muddy. It's my first time and I'm not getting there until tomorrow morning
Oh I forgot to ask......
What tyre pressure for those loose Rocky descents 😀
Re tyre pressure my brother in law has just topped mine up. Was running about 24 but he's just put them up to 30ish as they were too soft... I have no choice but its now his fault if I do badly tmrw!!
Route is rocky, slatey and muddy in places.
I'm running about 8psi in the front and 35 in the rear 😉
Anyone there now? Still room for more camping arrivals?
Leaving now. See you for last orders!
Half a shandy for me mr Chipps!!
