Can anybody tell me what these forks are like in particular the xmc130. Im looking at getting one but reviews are thin on the ground. Whats the stiffness like? At the moment im running a vanilla r 140 on my pace but i want something a bit lighter with some sort of lockdown function cheers

Don't know what the DT Swiss ones are like but I've been running a Pace RC41 for about 3 years and I think it is a cracking fork. Very light and far stiffer than you have any right to expect for the weight. Lockdown feature is quick and easy to use and genuinely useful. They are very plush, but can be a bit divey on steep technical stuff. You can dial it out to a certain extent with more compression damping, but you lose some of the plushness and as the adjuster is on the bottom of the fork leg it's not something you want to be twiddling with too often. I just pick a reasonable compromise.

Not sure what the 130's are like but I've just got some EXC 150's and although they've not had a real good test they lighten the bike a lot! However the down side of plushness is the fact that they tend to dive noticably when braking - again though I've not ridden it properly yet so my stance is not the same IE arse over the back ! , so that may not be so bad when actually trail riding. I phoned DT and was told to increase rebound a bit which has helped - obviously.
The launch control works a treat although again it looks to easy to knock it around- but will find out soon. Stiffness should be great as TA too on mine .

Unless DT have decided to scrimp on the carbon they will still be the stiffest trail forks under 36mm, the rd41 xcams pissed over all the 32mm fox forks.

About time DT announced a 200m travel wide stanchion monster though..

I've got the XMC130. It's a great fork in my opinion. Pretty stiff and light. I like the Launch control, although the rebound adjuster can be moved if you cycle on overgrown paths a lot! I've got the QR version, I think they're now doing the 15mm thing which should be stupidly stiff.
