So, I finally opened up my old DT OE mystery hub and found it’s the two-pawl system :/ I’d retired this hub a few years ago and replaced it rather than dealing with it at the time when it started locking up in cold weather. The state of the grease explains much. It’ll be an easy service, but as it stands it’s useless to me as I’m not running Shimano freehubs currently.
The only XD freehubs I can see are for the 3-pawl version which has the pawls in the freehub rather than on the axle as the 2-pawl so no compatibility there.
Have I just missed an item or is 2-pawl Shimano only?
The 2-Pawl Onyx/370 predates SRAM XD, as far as I'm aware there's never been a SRAM freehub made for it.
What I thought from what I was seeing.
Oh well, there goes the cheap option!
Onyx hubs are excellent though if any consolation
