[Closed] Driving Cardiff to North Wales: where to ride on route?

My wife and I are off camping in North Wales this weekend and we're going to be driving up from Cardiff and want to stop for a spin on route. Any one got any suggestions and perhaps a link to a route if its not way marked. A shower or river to dip in afterwards would be a bonus.

We're thinking of something fun but not too taxing as we've got a few more days on the bike planned.

Van road trails for something different, Cwm rhaeadr, Nant yr arian, climachx, CyB... this sort of follows a route north.

An extended route of the Climachx trail in Dyfi Forest? Can easily be cut short.

I'd stick to the suggestions by Cloudnine. Nant yr Arian is a great ride, and it's slap bang in the middle of North and South Wales. Showers here. Plus cake, if you're before 3pm.

Cwm Rheadyr is great, but very short, and it's not the easiest trail head to find compared to others. Plus it's not really on your way up the A470. No showers here.

CyB, you probbaly know about, it's closer to North Wales than South Wales - so you'll be driving for about 3 hours before getting there from Cardiff. There's showers here. Plus cake. And it's on the A470.

Whereas NyA is about 2 - 2.5 hours, but you have to drive about 20 minutes west of the A470.

I was thinking Chlimachx might be a good shout. last time we rode there is was soaking and the hard tyres on wet slate took the fun out of it so we're due a rematch.

Bird feeding is 3pm I think. Brilliant sight, especially as the centre is quite high - we got back from our loop early enough to do a quick spin of a short loop before the feeding and the birds were perched on trees *below* us on the outbound trail.
