Hi all.

Recently bought a 2016 nukeproof scout which has an alivio 3x group set. I want to go 1x11 so what's the minimum I need?

Thanks!

As above, or if you want to go sram, look into the NX groupo which is 12 speed of course. Similar money to the 11 speed Shim setup I think.😉

For some balance. I would avoid sram nx. It weighs as much as a small planet and has its own gravitational pull. Also it feels really cheap.

11 speed SLX is good:

I mean NX Eagle isn’t probably going to be much heavier than 3x Alivio and the shifting quality is going to be a
lot better.

My money would probably go on a 1x11 sram gx setup but you’d have to use a non sram cassette if you don’t have an xd freehub / can’t get one for your wheel.

Cheapest option probably is something like slx 11 speed and that’ll also be a big improvement over 3x Alivio.

Definitely avoid SunRace 12spd groupset.
I have shimano on one bike and sram on the other and have to say that at the moment sram is winning.

To add to the mix I've recently gone from 1x10 to an 11 speed GX set up but with a sunrace 11-46 cassette.. almost the same range as a 12 speed but without having to swap out the hub / wheel to get a 10 on the back. Upp the front to a 34 and now have 2 more 'easier gears' and one

Ha, ... to finish, "and one harder". All went in real easy, worth checking your previous and new ratios to get an idea of how it will feel.
