I've been looking at an N+1.

I was thinking a frame that is versatile and can be used for everything.

SS CX as a spare bike for late season muddy races (I have no pit crew)
SS monster cross for easy off road through winter and after work.
Winter road bike
Tourer/adventure bike

I was thinking dropped bar, disc, 700c/29er wheels with the ability to run geared and ss.

There are actually a few options but was wondering if anyone has similar bikes/suggestions.

Surly Straggler is the obvious choice
Transition rapture (although only one set of bottle bosses puts me off)
Soma Wolverine (too expensive)
Pinnacle Arkose SS (perfect?)

Any other suggestions or inspiration build pics?

Just built this frame up for similar riding to that you describe above. Unfortunately Singular have stopped making them, mine was S/H from the classifieds.(Cheers Nipper99)

Not a lot of options that are SS and geared with good tyre clearance. I love surly but the straggler dropouts just look painful to deal with in event of a puncture.

The arkrose is probably easiest to switch.
Genesis Day One is a good SS CX, but not really set up to take gears.

Dont you have a pompetamine? that not suitable?

Plus a lot of commuting, plenty of trail riding, long roadie rides and a bit of light cxing here and there too.

there's the Gryphon too, but that's not being made anymore either.
