It was a bad one, locked out with my arm at over 90 degrees. Any experiences, do I have to resolve myself to turbo brain death or is recovery fairly quick?

Took me about 6 or 7 weeks before i was able to put any proper weight on it.

In a sling for 3. Its hard work operating with one arm.

Going back years to my motorbike racing days we always thought that the recovery time [& pain] was proportionate to the length of time it was out

Get it re-located properly and do what the physio tells you. Turbo for about a month, then road rides for a few more weeks if it goes well.

I dislocated mine years ago and it was not re-set properly, now it can't go back in without surgery, but it does pretty much everything I need it to.
